Launching Emma Mildon and The Soul Searcher’s Handbook — The Modern Girl’s Guide to The New Age
We were approached by author, columnist and spiritualist Emma Mildon to launch her first book The Soul Searcher’s Handbook – The Modern Girl’s Guide to The New Age within the New Zealand market. Our challenge was to develop and implement a strategy that would not only raise awareness, create hype surrounding the launch and increase sales of the book, but also build Emma’s personal profile as a credible, authoritative and respected figure within the spirituality industry and champion her self-created role as a ‘Spiritual PA’.
Our approach was two-fold. Pre-Christmas advance review copies of the book were secured from New York and delivered to handpicked book reviewers and media for advance reviewing.
As printed copies became available early in new year we sent out to a larger base of media and influencers. In addition, we actively sought and pitched media opportunities that would build Emma’s profile and position her as a credible voice and influence within the spirituality sector.
The book was not available in New Zealand stores and only available online via multiples sites including amazon.com (where it regularly featured in the top five across multiple categories).
The campaign was hugely successful, achieving 40+ features across print, TV, radio, online and social media publications including placement in NZ Herald Viva, MiNDFOOD, and ZM along with a segment on TVNZ Breakfast. The result was a cumulative audience reach of 2.1m+.
